Slouchy Crochet Hat

This is a super adorable hat pattern that taught me a new stitch; the crossed double crochet stitch.  I had to take a couple of rows out because I have a super tiny head. I also used double knit wool but I think aran would work better.
(Sorry about the photo quality I couldn't avoid getting my mug in the shot.)

Penguin finger puppet pendant

I was experimenting with different animal appliques earlier when I stumbled upon the idea of making finger puppet necklaces.

Here's a cool little penguin dude (minus wings, I couldn't get them to look right)

*These will be available in my Etsy shop coming soon*

This is a jewelry piece I'm quite pleased with. I'm fairly certain that I adapted this from a pattern I found online but I can't find it. If this is your pattern then please message me so I can link the original.

The original came up quite large for a necklace so I made a smaller version.
(Please note I use US terms)
I use puppets thread for this. (It's my favourite crochet yarn!)

Pretty Heart Pattern

Chain 12

Sc in second chain from hook and in each stitch across. Ch 1. Turn (11sc)
Continue for another 6 rows. (it needs to form a square shape

Once a square is formed, find the middle of it and Qc 10 stitches into this middle stitch, slip stitch into the end of square.
Find the middle on the other side, 10 Qc into the middle stitch, sl st into end of square.
Fasten off.

QC = yarn over three times , pull up a loop (5 loops on hook) yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through two loops, yarn over, pull through last two loops.

I made two hearts and crocheted them together using a slip stitch.

*UPDATE*
Seeing as this is my first ever post, I thought maybe a little background history into my growing love of crochet was necessary.
I taught myself to crochet over a year ago, with the aim of making jewelry to sell online, using wire instead of yarn. I discovered that wire was really hard to work with and after one small item my hand was cramping! I did make some earrings, much to the disappointment of the family members who received them as Christmas presents i'm sure! Anyway so in-between making terrible wire crochet I began using normal yarn for bigger projects and my true love for crochet was born. I love experimenting with different materials, like wire, twine and carrier bags and updating vintage patterns with bright colours. I do intend to put up my work and once my etsy shop is live I will link that to here as well.

This is a snood/ scarf I made earlier this year
(pattern to follow once I've remembered what I did)

Here's the pattern for the snood as requested:

To start I did 190 Double crochet foundation chains. If you're not sure how to do that then here is a video I found on youtube which is pretty good.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lHRBSKYZmJE

Row 1- 9
At the last foundation chain, chain 2 and turn.
Dc in each chain across (190 Dc) ch2 and turn.

To join the scarf up i just slip stitched the ends together but you could sew them together if that suits you better.
